Update on Changes to Health & Safety Law
ProRisk would like to advise on a update on Changes to Health & Safety Law.
The Construction (Head Protection) Regulations 1989 have been revoked. However as a requirement the subject is now subsumed into the Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 2002 (as amended).
The Notification of Conventional Cranes Regulations 2010 and Notification of Conventional Tower Cranes (Amendment) Regulations 2010 are now revoked.

Major Review of CDM 2007
Under a major review of CDM 2007 the HSE are proposing several significant amendments. These are expected to come in during October 2014 and are as follows:
- The removal of Regulation 4 relating to competence.
- The removal of the ACoP (Approved Code of Practice).
- The introduction of CDMC duties for all projects with more than one contractor. Domestic and Commercial. The CDMC duties will be undertaken from within the duty holders.
- The replacement of CDMC duties for Design with a new term ‘Project Preparation Manager’ for the construction phase.
